As I sat on the sofa this past Saturday morning  surrounded by my dogs, my handgun within reach, watching my 3 month old daughter happily dream away in her swing, my thoughts drifted to a conversation I had earlier this week with a friend who has a young daughter. It was a conversation about how … Continue reading

LOOKOUT!! CALL THE AUTHORITIES QUICK!!! THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE AIRPORT THAT ARE A THREAT TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY!!!  A little 4 year old girl on her way home to Montana hugged her gramma (this link is from all the way across the pond) as gramma was being detained after she triggered an alarm at the security … Continue reading

I’ve been wanting a puppy and haven’t been able to decide what kind I want. All I know is that it has to be black and brown.  There is a picture forming in my head and I have been having difficulty in figuring it out. I’ve always liked and gotten along with Rottweilers and Dobermans. … Continue reading

I have 2 older brothers. They both left for college before I was in 6th grade, so basically during my teenage years I was an only child. I did my best work in my younger years. They should thank me for being such a cool little sister who never ever ever annoyed them. Okay, okay…even … Continue reading

I’m not sure who created this in order to give proper credit (I’m posting via my mobile & can’t make out the icon below the title); it was emailed to me by one of my oh-my-God-how-can-you-even-think-about-touching-a-firearm friends. Which just happens to be close to my heart. Heh. His goal: $500.00 Here’s his pitch: (keep in mind, he’s developed … Continue reading

I spent the first day of 2012 at my friend’s house baking cookies. We baked a basic chocolate cookie, rolled and dipped in chopped nuts then finished off with a Hershey’s Kiss secured with basic confectionary icing. Sidenote: we quadrupled the recipe and didn’t have enough walnuts. We used walnuts, almonds and pecans. The dough has to chill … Continue reading

without the songs my brother hates. I agree with him about “Dominick the Donkey”. blech. We’ll have to find out on his next post what his favorite song is. (Mom…I happen to LOVE your favorite song)

As a Yankee, I’ve never had the opportunity to experience Southern foods. Sure, I’ve lived with family in Virginia, but…they were family. Italian. Half of me. Fried chicken to us was bought from KFC or was what you’ve seen as my chicken cutlets on another post. (They are really goooooooooood) But I gotta tell ya … Continue reading

You know it’s Autumn when you drive to work and see every house on your commute down the mountain into the city with tendrils of smoke spewing from their chimneys. Rolling your window down, inhaling the cool crisp morning air, you can decifer which home is burning wood vs coal. (We burn coal for heat, … Continue reading
