No recipe follows; I used a box mix this time.
My birthday was on Friday and I bought some Italian pastries to celebrate – cannoli’s, rainbow cookies and something else that I can’t spell. And I ate it all.
The cannoli was satisfying, but the kid in me still wanted cake and the adult in me didn’t feel like like baking from scratch. Good thing my momma taught me well and I always have box mix on hand.
She didn’t prepare me for this though; in all my years of baking, I’ve never seen a double yolk…into the batter it went.
I’ve made Red Velvet from scratch…with all the dutch cocoa in the recipe I can never get the batter this red:
I really need to use a photo editor or learn how to use my camera phone.
I packed up all my baking supplies, including my paper baking cups. Who was it that said a square can’t fit in a round hole?
