I’ve been told that since I named my blog “AK’s and Cupcakes” I oughta write about AK-47′s and that I cannot blog about anything else until I do so. I’ve got a bad case of blogger’s block so here it is.
Created by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the former Soviet Union, the AK-47 is available in the US as a semi-automatic rifle; it is gas-operated and comes in 7.62x39mm.
One of the features that I love are the accessories. (Yeah, that’s right…I totally just girlied-up the AK). I’ve stained my stock, painted it, changed it out completely from a wood stock to a folding stock, new scope, different sights. You name it. It’s been done to my AK. I confess…my wood stock was purple. I’m not a pink kinda gal.
I love that this poster says Avtomat Kalashnikova. (I know you just tried to say Avtomat Kalashnikova with a Russian accent. I always do. I sound horrible when I attempt it, but it’s fun.) I remember the first time I shot an AK. It was like any other range trip when I was introduced to a new firearm & I was nervous. I didn’t hit anything, but it was GLORIOUS!!! It was unlike anything I’ve shot before and I didn’t want anything to do with the .22 cal Romanian training rifle that we brought for that range trip (in case I didn’t like the AK. Blasphemy.)
The AK-47 truly is my favorite rifle. I don’t shoot it a lot. But I’m like that with other things that are in my list of favorites. I only eat my favorite food once in a while. I’ll read my favorite book or watch my favorite movie once a year. I’ve got this crazy idea that I’m going to get sick of shooting it. Every time I bring it out I hope it doesn’t happen.

Very nice! If I named a blog after my favorite things, it would be called ‘Guns and Ammo’. Unfortunately, that domain was claimed a number of years and the publication decades earlier.
There are a couple companies that sell that artwork, including on coffee cups. I’ve Sig pistols, 1911s, ARs, Garands, Browning High-Powers, and a couple others.
You might search the artists’ name and find one, and get yourself an AK cup, if you’ve not already.

After reading this, I had to go listen to ‘Finland Red, Egypt White’ again.
Oh cool, it embedded it lol.
LMFAO!!!
Cool blog, definitely love the name! Came in on a link from Gun Blog Black List.
Thank you kindly!
